Visible Secret 2 (2002)

REVIEWER RATING:
6/10

This is the "sequel" to the first Visible Secret film, which I actually enjoyed. They really have nothing much to do with each other except for the fact that the same main actor from the first movie plays the main guy in this movie, but they are both different characters. This time around a man begins to see ghosts after recovering from an accident. Aside from seeing ghosts, he begins noticing his wife acting strangely and comes to the conclusion that she is possessed. He now has to find the source of the possession in order to save her.

I liked the first movie better. It was better visually and I liked the characters better. This one wasn't bad though. It had an interesting story and it was cool seeing the same guy from the first movie in this, even though it was a different character. There weren't really any scary moments, but then again, I don't really remember any in the first movie either. Although the guy is able to see ghosts, the main focus is really centered on his wife and the possession, which I guess isn't a bad thing since there are already a lot of movies about seeing ghosts.

I went in checkin' this film thinking it had ties to the first and was left rather disappointed. It's basically just anther film baring the same name. I would have given the movie a lower-rating, but I enjoyed it for the most part. I just wished it had more scares and more ghosts.

Worth a check if you're a fan of Hong Kong horror, but don't expect a lot of scares. I recommend just checkin' the first film and skipping this one.
