On a beautiful sunny day in Los Angeles, California, a military truck carrying troops winds through the hills with little urgency—until an immensely thick fog suddenly blinds their path. As the soldiers step out with guns drawn to investigate, Major Haines played with reliable gravitas by Glenn Plummer, discovers a severely wounded man begging to be rescued from the mystic haze. Squeaky noises, mounting fear, and paranoia over an ominous energy send the men scrambling for cover as they face a terrifying doom.  

The scene shifts to Las Vegas, where an exclusively lavish party is hosted by humble millionaire and family man Frank McConnely, delivered with exemplary ease by the magnetic Robert Standley. The guest list ranges from famous WWE superstars, well-known NFL players and Mayor Walker, a sharply rendered role from the quick-witted Tom Arnold to a Guy Fieri-esque pool man with a wild beard, brought to life through a terrific comedic turn by Greg Tally.

As the shindig unfolds, President Nolan—otherwise known as THE Kevin Sorbo, yes, you read that correctly—grows visibly irritated with his cabinet for withholding classified information about bizarre weather events spreading across the globe. Strange smoke-like clouds have drifted into countries, towns, and cities worldwide, triggering widespread power outages and fear of the unknown. Once the live speech reaches the media, terror ripples through the McConnely house, sending some attendees rushing out while others remain frozen in panic.

Frank and his formidable wife Ophelia, portrayed protectively by Laura Mason, usher the remaining guests into their “bunker”—which appears to be a man-made Caribbean resort replica hidden in the basement.  

With enough food, water, and generators to sustain the group for roughly three months, it quickly becomes clear that most of them may not survive the night, let alone the future. The dreaded vapor begins seeping into the house, accompanied by unseen creatures that leave a trail of blood after each human encounter. When the power goes out, Frank’s daughter Grace, determined to find the beloved family dog, Fuzzball, ventures into danger and comes face-to-face with a rather amateurish-looking, red-eyed monster. I imagine such a ridiculous entity would be frightening to find at home—but then again, this is Las Vegas, right?  

Gutted bodies, screams, and adrenaline erupt as the stash of artillery is opened for those willing to fight back against these unearthly predators—and all hell breaks loose. Frank and Ophelia remain determined to find and save Grace, no matter what obstacles stand in their way. As sacrifices mount and poor decisions pile up, the same questions linger: Are these invaders demons, aliens, or part of a government conspiracy to wipe out the world? And what exactly happened to Fuzzball?
