Without horror, one of gaming’s best asymmetrical multiplayer games would not exist. Horror movies have allowed modern audiences to partake in the story behind these masked murderers and icons by playing survivors or killers from those iconic movies. Dead by Daylight has had a multitude of iconic crossover’s to make their game more appealing to those who deep dive into the world of thrillers and horror movies. From killers like Ghostface, Leatherface, Nemesis along with a growing list of others, who is next up to take the throne in death? Below, I list some of my ideas that would fit the game’s appeal, and also my appeal because it’s my list!

1. Pumpkinhead
Now some fans of the horror genre may know exactly who I am talking about and some may be scratching their heads at this random name. Pumpkinhead is not a widely known villain but his origin story and creature design is perfect for the Dead by Daylight universe. He is summoned through a witch or shaman for revenge and is a completely unstoppable force against human nature. This recommendation is really a favor for me, and nobody else!

2. Art the Clown
This one makes a large amount of sense and could potentially work well for the game. With Terrifier 2 making a huge splash in theaters, a new slasher named Art the Clown could be the perfect serial killer to pit against survivors. Terrifier 2 was never intended to receive the attention that it did, but ultimately topped box offices for its small budget. Movie-goers who watched it were reported to vomit in theaters along with some passing out from the gore that Art inflicted in his film. Even the director of this film did not expect it to become what it did, surpassing all critic reviews and cementing its legacy in the slasher genre.
Why use him in Dead by Daylight? I think creating Art would draw in fandom again over this Tik Tok trend of a character. Not to mention that a few different abilities could be created for him due to the trolling he commits to victims. Even the map behind his release would be a city-style scape, which is something we rarely see in Dead by Daylight. Is there a real chance that Art could be featured in a massively successful video game like Dead by Daylight? Probably not, but never say never!

3. Medusa
This is one character I am surprised has never appeared, especially with such rich lore behind her. Medusa, the creature who is based off of Greek mythology, can easily fit in behind any lore villains. Imagine an ability where Medusa can freeze survivors by looking at them, which would be a game changer! A problem that arises is that her appearance may not be as scary as villains like Ringu, but we have a bunch of non-creepy looking characters. That being said, I am sure that someone out there has created Medusa in a horrifying manner. I mean, we are talking about a lady with snakes for hair and a gaze as cold as stone!
4. The Creeper (Jeepers Creepers)
A creature I would be thrilled to see return in a disturbing manner, The Creeper from Jeepers Creepers. Not many monsters on movie screens have truly sent shivers down my spine than The Creeper did. The coldness of his eyes and unknowing intent behind his look into yours…has always shaken me to my core. Creeper would be unique to the game in the sense that he can fly, with a possible ability being a quick transport around the map. I’d imagine they would take the obsession of eyes as a big deal, using tokens for obsession perks. As for maps, a basement with his victims stitched together is crazy enough to work or the police precinct from the finale of the original. The Creeper would be my most requested creature behind Pumpkinhead, selfishly.
Imagine this form being featured in Dead by Daylight, staring from a distance.
5. Chucky
This guess is not outlandish, being a prime suspect that can take the mantle of Dead by Daylight’s next killer. With the resurgence of Chucky in his own television show and the announcement of a Halloween Horror Nights house revolving around him, we may see the precious doll take the mantle. The curiosity of how he can adapt into the game is the question behind this one, with him being so small and all. Chucky running around the map would be quite annoying to spot, especially from a distance. Not only that, but you run into the problem of him picking up or hooking survivors, unless he can drag them around the map. Chucky is an iconic slasher that nobody seems to picture in Dead by Daylight, except me. Imagine a Chucky doll killing survivors around you along with hooking them, it's hilariously terrifying.
Seeing this face peeking around a corner induces fear into me.
6. Pennywise (It)
Yes, another clown, but this one can shape shift into just about anything your nightmares are made of! A killer who has a predetermined amount of forms such as an arachnid, the woman in the painting, and Georgie would be interesting. An enormous amount of work would have to go behind creating an accurate version of Pennywise but every horror fan who plays can appreciate it. With the massive success of the new films and their popularity amongst those who don’t like scary movies, Pennywise is an exceedingly spine-chilling choice.

Conclusion:
Any horror slasher, creature, or serial killer could be a good fit for Dead by Daylight. The game really has a shelf life unlike any other! As new monsters are made from Hollywood films each year, the list of possibilities grows. This list also does not include any monsters from video games, another large possibility of which we have seen with Pyramid Head. Arriving in June of 2016, this game has created a realm of fanatics who can’t wait to get more out of their favorite horror genres. It continues to go strong on Twitch with an average of twenty thousand viewers daily! Hopping into the game as of right now may be a little overwhelming for the average player, as you may be behind in blood points that will help you exceed!
