Horror movies are a genre of film that definitely isn’t loved by everyone. There are some people who just don’t see the joy in getting spooked and frightened for the best part of two hours. However, those who do enjoy horror movies really seem to like them. Horror movie fans will have seen almost every film in the genre. Although there have been some really bad scary movies made over the years, there have also been some amazing ones. Some recent releases such as Get Out, Hereditary, and Midsommer have added some quality to the genre.
Of course, within horror, there are some sub-genres. For example, if you are looking for a slasher film, then checking out the Halloween franchise could be a good idea. However, if you prefer more of a paranormal type of scare, then you should look for movies in the Conjuring universe. So what about films that all share a common location? If you are a fan of gambling, then there is a good chance you wouldn’t mind watching a horror movie set in a casino. Although this isn’t exactly a massive sub-genre, there are films that fit the category. They include the following.
Army of the Dead
Fans really got excited when they heard that Zack Snyder was going to be taking the director's role of this Netflix original. With Dave Bautista as his main lead, there is a lot of fun and action in Army of the Dead. It even has some familiarity with the Ocean’s Eleven movies. However, there is a small difference between the two. The casino that Dave Bautista is trying to pull off a heist in is swarmed with zombies. This apocalyptic movie is both fun and terrifying. Despite being a relatively recent release, it is already being considered one of the better zombie movies made. From start to finish, you will be on the edge of your seat watching this modern classic. If the zombie-infested casino does inspire you to do some gambling of your own, be sure to check out https://www.gambleonline.co/casino/real-money/.
Resident Evil: Extinction
From games to movies, there is no doubt that the Resident Evil series really made a huge impact on the world of horror. This zombie flick was set in Las Vegas, meaning there are a lot of great elements for gambling fans to enjoy. Although it isn’t that beloved by horror critics, there are a lot of fun moments for audience members. Definitely worth checking out if you are a horror fan and/or a gambling one.
Leprechaun 3
The Leprechaun franchise might not go down in cinematic history as the best, but they are entertaining. The third one even has some additional interest for gambling fans due to the fact it is set inside of a casino. After all, who wouldn’t want to see Warwick Davis play an evil, murderous Leprechaun who terrorises people inside a casino?
If you’re after a horror film that’s set in a casino, these three movies are great to try.
