The captivating setting, lights, and sounds of slots are certainly fascinating, even when projected on screen. This strong feeling has led many online platforms to draw inspiration from cinema, creating engaging and fun themed games. By visiting the Oddschecker casino hub, it is possible to find daily updates on offers and bonuses. Every willing bettor will see how large the offer of game and cinema-themed online casinos is, so he or she can choose the one more suitable for his or her needs.

Let’s just think about the 007 saga, such as in titles like Casino Royale, or the thieves’ flick with the all-stars cast called Ocean’s 11; Ocean’s 12 and Ocean’s 13. These are all movies where casinos occupy the center stage. After all, places like casinos offer a lot of elements to directors: risk, money, power, luck, skills… Everyone can choose his or her favourite setting and build a story around it. It is possible with every genre: action, of course, but also drama, thriller, love or horror. Let’s focus on this last one, as we always do on our site, and check out 5 horror movies somehow related to casinos.
Fear and casinos
Typically, casino horror movies blend supernatural elements like the ones that are often seen in horrors with gambling’s inherent risks that make this particular setting so interesting. The following selection features titles where gambling and death are entwined in captivating plots that keep the viewers glued to their screen because of a combination of themes coming from fear and casinos. Settings like these add glamour and suspense to movies. This is the main reason why gambling houses are so popular in cinema.
Army of the Dead (2021)

The plot of Army of the Dead in its 2021 installation revolves around a high-stakes heist in a zombie-infested and quarantined Las Vegas casino. It’s a pretty peculiar setting that gives way to a curious story in which a gang of thieves has to survive inside the gambling house where they were supposed to steal millions. The action scenes are funny and full of adrenaline. Undead hordes and smart zombies nicknamed Alpha try their best to murder the gangoons, who become heroes inside the Olympia Casino and other iconic Vegas locations. Everything is brought up to speed because a nuclear bomb is about to hit and wipe the undead away, without caring much about the humans.
Leprechaun 3 (1995)
The third installation in the Leprechaun saga dates 30 years ago and takes place in Vegas, inside the fictional Lucky Shamrock Casino. This is the place where the blood-thirsty Leprechaun unleashes chaos by granting twisted wishes and causing a spiral of mayhem, death and destruction. Everything kicks off when the Leprechaun gets to Vegas and loses his magical medallion. A young man finds it and asks for a massive win at the casino. Then, obviously, big trouble follows.
The Haunted Casino (2007)
Here, the reference is in the title, so you can’t possibly go wrong. When a gambling house is somewhat haunted, it must be a horror movie related to a casino. Also known as Dead Man’s Hand: Casino of the Damned, this low-budget flick features a youngster, his girlfriend and some of his friends visiting the casino he inherited from his late great-uncle. Little do they know that the gambling house is haunted by vengeful ghosts of mobsters the uncle brutally murdered years before. The situation could not end well, could it?
Remains (2011)
This post-apocalyptic zombie movie is set in Reno, Nevada, and follows the adventures of a group of people hiding from the undead apocalypse in a casino, after a nuclear explosion turned most of the locals into zombies. It’s a compelling story, well adapted by Colin Theys after the graphic novel written by Steve Niles. The writer is the same one who created the vampire saga of 30 Days of Night.
13 Tzameti (2005)
This critically acclaimed French-Georgian movie doesn’t feature any supernatural element. The bad ones are humans, playing with other people’s lives in a gambling Russian roulette round where they can bet on who will survive and who will be killed in cold blood. It’s not a traditional casino game by any means but it does show bettors and betting. There is also an English sequel, simply called 13. It is inferior to the original, though.
